A snapshot of the events that have brought our community closer together…
Here, we celebrate the vibrant gatherings that have brought our online community to life, face-to-face. While it’s been a while since our last event, the spirit of our community is as strong as ever.
Our events have always been about more than just meeting up; they’re where local mums could relax, share stories, and enjoy good company—with the added bonus of keeping the kids entertained in a fun setting. We’ve always ensured a welcoming atmosphere at each event, complete with great coffee and comfortable spaces.
From intimate coffee chats to larger community gatherings, each event was crafted to ensure everyone enjoyed their time and left feeling more connected to the community. These occasions also offered a chance to gently introduce mums to local services and products in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.
As we look forward to bringing our community together again in person, this page serves as a reminder of the great times we’ve shared and the many more to come. Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect, share, and create new memories with Mums of the Shire.
PAST EVENTS
AUTUMN AFFAIR
Tuesday 10th March 2020
South Village Shopping Centre, Kirrawee
Our Autumn Affair was an absolute activities bonanza! We’d lined up a whole host of wonderful local businesses to entertain our families, so when the rain hit right before our event was due to start, we were relive to know we could easily move all activities from the beautiful outdoor grassed area into the amazing undercover space within South Village Shopping Centre.
We set up a cosy area where mums could meet other mums, with some styling help from Events by Rachel and had nutritionist Linley Peters from Cook Like a Nutritionist stationed there to offer feeding tips and dietary advice. South Village ran their Little People, Big Ideas workshop and organised a face painter and balloon twister. En Pointe Dance Academy showed all the budding little dancers how to whirl and twirl.
Ready Steady Go Kids got kids to burn off plenty of energy as they learned how to kick, bounce and throw balls in fabulous fashion. Bodymindlife led the kids in easy stretches and yoga poses. Sutherland Shire Council Children’s Services got the kids busy making dream catchers and Emma from Let’s Get Loud captivated the audience dressed as Emma Wiggle and had everyone waving scarves and doing the propellor.
You can take a look at all the action here, which was beautifully captured by the fabulous Sasha Faint of Sasha Faint Photography, who also took some gorgeous children’s portraits on the morning. After an eventful couple of hours, packing up was a breeze with the help of Gavin from Use My Ute.
More than 200 mums and their kids joined us for an action-packed morning, which despite the rain, went off without a hitch. If you attended and would like to offer us some feedback that will help us make our next event even bigger and better, please complete our quick post-event survey.

What a glorious morning we had meeting so many local mums and their little ones at our recent catch up at the stunning Audley Dance Hall & Café in the heart of the Royal National Park.

The sun shone, the lush green valley protected us from the wind, and even a family of tiny ducklings came to visit.
