Tania from Shire Midwifery is an Endorsed Midwife, Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Child & Family Health Midwife with over 22 years of experience and knowledge. Tania is also a local mum of three. Tania has worked in the UK and Australia at home & hospital births. Tania is a kind, gentle and dedicated professional who provides care specific to your needs. Tania can offer affordable care from early pregnancy until six weeks postpartum, over 20+ appointments!
As an Endorsed Midwife, Tania can provide full midwifery services spanning Antenatal, Birth and Postnatal care. Tania orders pathology tests, ultrasounds and pregnancy related medications. Continuity of care has been proven to significantly improve outcomes for mothers and babies. The NSW Birth Trauma enquiry also identified Endorsed Midwives as having the lowest rates of birth trauma.
Tania also offers Home Birth care, including a birth pool, all birth equipment and in the unlikely event emergency equipment and medications. Home births are also attended by a second Midwife. Tania also provides birth support in local hospitals as an alternative for those not wishing to birth at home. All visits are in your home, allowing partners or other family members to be involved. Medicare rebates are available for some services.
Tania is passionate about supporting women and their families during this special time, and provides all education required before birth. Tania is a credentialled IBCLC and can support you with your breastfeeding needs. With a Master's degree in Child & Family Health Nursing, she can provide detailed sleep & settling, growth and wellbeing advice for new parents.
