Gidget House® Kareena at Kareena Private Hospital is available to support families!

Gidget Foundation Australia (GFA) is delighted to inform you that a free perinatal psychological support service is available to support people in the Sutherland Shire region!

Gidget House provides a maximum of 10 free individual face to face psychological counselling sessions with a speciliast perinatal mental health clinician for expectant and new parents. A GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan are required to access the service with appointments available Monday to Friday. This service is convientantly located on Level 3 of Kareena Private Hospital, 86 Kareena Rd Caringbah NSW 2229. Gidget House Kareena at Kareena Private Hospital provides free specialist psychological treatment services for people throughout the perinatal period: from conception until the baby is 12 months old. GFA offer support to expectant and new parents experiencing, or at risk of developing, perinatal depression, anxiety or other related conditions. Support is also provided to those people and their partners, who have experienced birth trauma, pregnancy related loss or who are going through assisted reproduction.

Gidget Foundation Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to support the emotional wellbeing of expectant and new parents and to raise awareness of perinatal depression and anxiety amongst expectant and new parents their families, their healthcare providers and the wider community, to ensure those in need receive timely, appropriate and specialist care.

GFA are proud to support the emotional wellbeing of expectant and new parents through a number of nationally reaching programs including:

• Gidget House® - provides free individual psychological counselling services delivered face-to face from 24 locations in NSW, VIC, QLD.
• Start Talking Telehealth Program - provides 10 free telehealth psychological counselling services for expectant and new parents delivered via a secure video call service, similar to FaceTime, Zoom or Skype.
• Gidget Emotional Wellbeing Program - a hospital pre-admission appointment with a trained Gidget Midwife at selected hospitals.
• Gidget Village® - free group treatment therapy with groups for pregnant women, new mothers and fathers
• Gidget Virtual Village® - a private, moderated Facebook peer support group connecting expectant and new parents with Gidget Foundation Australia.
