ZOWN is an app created by a mum of 4 tweens and teens to help kids thrive! ZOWN is all about good news and positivity and aims to cut through the negativity of social media and provide a safe and fun alternative. ZOWN is not about clicks, likes and algorithms - in fact we want kids to pop in, learn something and then leave their phone for some real life experiences!
From daily positivity posts to goal setting, good news, daily mood check ins and resources to help navigate the tween and teen years - ZOWN is a safe space online for kids to feel good about the world and their place in it. We even have Zed our awesome digital buddy who is available to provide advice on anything and everything in a kid friendly, positive way! Zed hails from the intergalactic realm of Zondor and has no age, no gender and absolutely no judgement! Zed is available to help navigate everything from tricky friendship situations to help with Maths homework! Zed's aim is to role model and help translate advice online into real life.
ZOWN users can also submit their own content - but it's all moderated by an adult to ensure safety, and anonymous so there's no risk of judgement.
ZOWN is free from advertising and free for all users! We have recently launched a premium subscription with greater access to Zed, more tools for creating content and access to competitions and other exciting features.
We're not under the illusion that ZOWN is going to cure the current mental health crisis but we do firmly believe that it will help kids see the good in the world and help triage many kids before they need mental health intervention - and that can only be a good thing!
