Have you ever wondered if your birth story could have been different? Have you always felt completely informed and empowered during labour? Are you feeling confident in your abilities as you approach the big day?
Whether you’re giving birth for the first time or fifth, the moment itself is always unique and new. Educating yourself in the lead up is the key to feeling in control, knowing your options and having a better birthing experience.
One Mama Midwife is run by the lovely Lauren – more than just a midwife, Lauren is an Endorsed Midwife and Clinical Midwifery Specialist, recognised as being able to provide a high level of clinical knowledge, experience and skills in providing complex midwifery care.
Her in-demand antenatal classes are designed to get parents excited, prepared and informed about their upcoming journey into parenthood, an adventure like no other. She covers all the essentials including what labour is, how to kick start labour, when to call the hospital, stages of labour, how to cope in labour, when things don’t go to plan, induction, caesareans, what happens after birth, what to expect in the postpartum period, caring for your baby, swaddling, bathing, nappies and breastfeeding.
Lauren’s unique approach is a blend of nurturing support and clinical expertise. Her classes, running twice a month, are based on real scenarios, events and are completely evidence based.
She has a Bachelor and Masters in Midwifery, works full time in the labour ward and is an approved provider of childbirth education classes with private health funds, so rebates are available.
Being a mum of four, Lauren knows what works, so is also a great sounding board on all those parenting gadgets and gizmos (we’re sure she’ll have a few great mum hacks herself!). She believes that no question is a silly one and it is this caring approach that makes her feel more like a big sister than a midwife.
Classes are held bi-monthly at either Cronulla or Sutherland, starting 3rd December. All couples will get delicious food included, drinks and a goodie bag full of amazing freebies and exclusive discounts. Participants will then be connected in a whatsapp group that can be used as a mother’s group and a great ongoing support resource.
If you’re expecting, you’ll want a caring, qualified support person. Work with the best and contact Lauren for more information online or check out her classes here.
