Clean Up Australia Day – Sutherland Shire

There has never been a better time to tackle the surge in single-use disposable items like takeaway coffee cups, food packaging, masks and sanitary wipes, which litter local parks, bushland, waterways and beaches.

Sutherland Shire Council will support local clean-up events by collecting bagged rubbish from registered sites on Sunday 7 March.

In response to COVID-19, additional measures will be in place to ensure the health and safety of Clean Up volunteers, including a limit of 10 volunteers per clean up group and adherence of social distancing protocols. Additionally, Clean Up kits will be paper-free, include QR codes for registration on the day, hand sanitiser, plus bags and gloves for every volunteer.
