From dawn services to Two-up and a quiet moment of reflection, here’s where you can honour ANZAC Day in the Sutherland Shire this year.

ANZAC Day holds a special place in the hearts of Australians—and here in the Shire, where community spirit runs deep, we come together e nm,ach year to honour the brave men and women who have stood, or continue to stand, proud for our country.

Whether you’re setting the alarm for a Dawn Service, marching with your kids, or raising a toast at a local Two-up game, we’ve pulled together everything you need to know to mark the day meaningfully.

Dawn Services in the Shire

ANZAC Day falls on Friday 25 April, and Dawn Services are being held right across the Sutherland Shire. If you’ve never been to one, they’re deeply moving—and a great opportunity to show the kids what mateship and service really mean.

  • Assemble: 4am, Denman Ave
  • March: 4:10am
  • Service: 4:20am, Caringbah War Memorial (Cnr Port Hacking Rd & The Kingsway)

Sutherland

  • Assemble: 5:00am, Club on East
  • March: 5:15am
  • Service: 5:30am, Sutherland War Memorial, Eton St

Cronulla

  • Assemble: 5:15am, Cronulla RSL
  • March: 5:30am
  • Service: 5:35am, Cronulla Park

Menai

  • Service: 5:30am, Memorial Wall Parc Menai, Allison Cres

Engadine

  • Service: 5:30am, Engadine War Memorial, Engadine Town Square

Miranda

  • Assemble: 5:15am, Wandella Rd
  • March: 5:30am
  • Service: 5:40am, Miranda War Memorial, Seymour Shaw Reserve

Bundeena

  • Service: 6am, War Memorial, Bundeena Reserve (Loftus St)

Woronora

  • Service: 6:00am, Woronora River RSL, Prince Edward Park Rd

Tip: Rug up, bring a reusable coffee cup, and consider arriving a little early—crowds build quickly at some of the bigger locations.

 

Top Spots for 2-Up

Feeling lucky? Two-up is a time-honoured ANZAC Day tradition, and it’s legal (and extra fun) on this one day of the year. If you’re planning to head out after the formalities, here are a few local venues flipping the coins:

  • Two-up 12-4pm (on the green)
  • Live entertainment from 12-2pm

Reminder: ANZAC Day is a day of remembrance—Two-up is about mateship and respect. Play responsibly and look out for one another.

Broadcast it

If you have tiny children in your care and cannot get out to show your respect for our soldiers, you can watch the official live broadcast at home. From 4:20am, ABC will be live streaming the broadcast of the Sydney Dawn Service and the National Commemorative Service. You can watch along via the ABC news channel on your TV.
