This week’s lovely local mumma is Amber Bowness. The gorgeous mum of three shares her #mumlife with us and tells us about her new exciting venture!
Where and how long have you lived in the Sutherland Shire?
I have lived in the Shire my entire life. Growing up in Heathcote then moving to Caringbah and back to Engadine. I could not live anywhere else.
How many children:
I have three children. Ivy is six years old, she is my free spirit and loves pushing the boundaries every single day. Willow is four years old and is going on 14, she is loud, organised and super caring. Nixon is nine months old, he is such a happy baby who is constantly laughing and smiling.
Favourite park:
We like to hang out at Cooper Street park in Engadine, it caters for all ages. Swings, climbing equipment and has the bike track.
Favourite thing to do with the kids:
We love snuggling on the lounge watching movies, going out to breakfast riding our bikes and scooters and spontaneous shopping/movie dates.
Favourite kid-friendly cafe:
We often go for breakfast to The Urban on Lantana in Engadine or we love Mim’s Espresso in Burraneer.
Favourite local shop / online store:
Oh I have way too many!
Guilty pleasure:
Spending money – I’m a different person after a shopping spree!!
Something people don’t know about you:
My natural hair colour!
What makes you lose your shit?
Slow drivers!!!
Work or SAHM:
I am the owner of Asisa Hair Salon in Burraneer. Being a hairdresser and working for one of the top hair care companies for 12 years; To have my own business was always a dream of mine.
My biggest achievement is being a mum and my second is finally working and running my own Salon. I love the freedom it brings which enables me to be there for my kids when they need me The most.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day in our house is school drop off, kindy drop off and then on to work. During the day I am continuously on the move working with customers and staff. After work I head home to the crazy house of three kids, a husband and two dogs. My hubby and I together cook dinner, bath the kids and get ready for the next day.
Motherly advice on how to stay sane:
Take time out for you. Go grab a coffee with a friend, sit at the beach watching the waves or go shopping and buy yourself something amazing. Life is hectic and if you’re not ok your little family won’t be either.
