Our New Year’s Eve may be slightly tamer than in our pre-children days but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop!! If staying close to home is on the agenda this NYE then head to the rooftop at Westfield Miranda for their second year of fireworks displays. Or if you’re looking for something more and you are keen to venture out, there are plenty of great vantage points around Sydney for watching the family friendly 9pm fireworks. Families with young children can enjoy an 8-20 minute display and travel home before the late-night crowds arrive. Some events start even earlier with rides, food and entertainment from 4pm to allow the little ones to have heaps of fun and still get home to bed at a decent hour.

We are spoiled for choice when it comes to fun things to do here in the Sutherland Shire. Make sure enjoy some new experiences with the kids (and kids-at-heart) these school holidays.

So you really need a holiday. A break from the everyday – work, cleaning, cooking… It all seems like a great idea in the planning phase but a successful kid friendly holiday lies in the detail.

The park has a set of swings, a slide, see saw, bridge and small flying fox. As well as a little shop play area underneath. It was a good size for our girls aged 1 and 3.

The park itself is really big and caters for kids of all ages. It is fenced but not completely, as there are two pedestrian entries and the driveway to the car park. So it’s not a totally free range option for the really little ones. But due to the size of the park you do tend to have time to swiftly chase them when they attempt a great escape.

I work three days a week at a public hospital as a sonographer (someone who does ultrasounds). I have also recently started up a side business performing 3D baby bonding ultrasounds in Taren Point, called PEEK A BOO 3D ULTRASOUND.
