You’re a mum. So that pretty much makes you everything to everyone. Between looking after kids, a husband and a job, it can feel like you are constantly rushing around. There are just never enough hours in the day.
The juggle of balancing a young family with a career is all too familiar for local Shire mum Alison Dean. She recently moved back to the Shire, having grown up here. The pull of our great community brought her home and she could not be happier with her decision.
Prior to starting a family she worked in the advertising industry. A role where the hours and travel simply did not lend itself to a child friendly environment.
It was at this time she took a leap of faith and started her own business. And aren’t we glad she did.
The High Tea Party was born
Whilst Alison gets great joy from being around her three beautiful children she also needed a purpose.
That’s when she decided let’s do high tea and provide ladies with just what they need…a little time out. Add in champagne and cocktails at a five star venue, and you have an amazingly indulgent event. It is no wonder The High Tea Party has now grown to 6 events nationally with over 30,000 ladies in attendance.
When you chat with Alison, it becomes clear really quickly that her intention with creating the event is to provide women an excuse to take a moment and catch up with their girlfriends. Even as the event has grown the purpose remains true – to make sure everyone feels happy and joyous during their time at the event.
More than just tea and scones
Of course we know it would not be a high tea without scones with jam and cream. But this high tea is so much more. It is an event where you and your girlfriends can come together, indulge for the day and have a great time. It is your chance to forget all of the day to day grind that is never ending, even if just for a few hours.
It goes without saying that you will indulge in cakes, sandwiches and an assortment of amazing teas. Champagne and cocktails will be flowing as well.
But what makes this more than just your typical high tea, is what else is on offer.
- Spend some time checking out the fashion show
- Pick up some tips from the styling seminar
- Visit the unique pampering and fashion zones
- Enjoy sparkling wine on arrival
- Oh and did we mention gifts to take home as well!
You deserve time out with your girlfriends
When you check out The High Tea Party’s Facebook page, it quickly becomes clear that Alison and her team put a lot of effort into bringing joy to the ladies that attend the event. You will be made to feel as special as you deserve for all the hard work that you put in on a daily basis.
So grab your girlfriends, put hubby, your parents or a babysitter on kid minding duties and choose your high tea sitting.
The event takes place at the Hilton Sydney on Saturday 4th November to Sunday 5th November.
Sittings are available at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm. If you think you need a little more indulgence (who doesn’t?) book the VIP Dining Experience at 11am and 2pm.
