Caringbah
Head to Caringbah Leisure Centre for a good old fashioned pool party! Entry is free and the DJ kicks off at 10am. There will also be a sausage sizzle fundraiser on the day so your Aussie lunch is sorted.
Como
From the 25th-30th January a spectacular curated light display will be held at the Como Pleasure Grounds from 6-10pm.
On Australia Day, you can cool down at the Como Swimming Complex for free between 1-6pm. Then stay for the live music and a vibrant light display, which will light up Como Pleasure Grounds from 3pm-10pm.
Cronulla
Cronulla will become a cacophony of musical delights and roving performers and musicians will move between Dunningham Park and Gunnamatta Park Amphitheatre in Cronulla from 11am-4pm on Australia Day. Let the sounds of summer and some delightful brass band tunes swim over you while you literally swim at some of Australia’s most beautiful beaches.
Cronulla RSL will be hosting a day of fun competitions for the family from 11am including:
Lamington and pie-eating, colouring-in and thong throwing!
From 2pm there will be live entertainment in the Sunroom and you can nab yourself a $10 Speciality Australia Day Cocktails available at The Deck and Migaloos all day.
Engadine
Enter Engadine Leisure Centre for free between 10am-2pm and enjoy a DJ’d pool party and a refreshing swim.
Then make your way to Cooper Street Reserve from 5pm for a special Cinema Under the Stars. Catch the 5pm showing of Sing! or Dolittle (at 7pm) along with some live music at. This fabulous outdoor event is free- even the popcorn!
Gymea
Hazelhurst Arts Centre at Gymea will be holding a citizenship ceremony and Australia Day Awards from 10-11am. The beautiful gardens will be filled with live music so you can take in the peaceful sights and sounds as you toast to our new citizens and worthy winners.
Sutherland
The sounds will be pumping at Sutherland Leisure Centre from 10am-2pm for the Australia Day pool party. Entry is free and the DJ will have you dancing while you swim!
Wanda
Wanda Surf Club is hosting an Oz Rock Birthday Bash to help you really get in the mood for celebrating Australia Day! The acoustic rock triple-header will feature Steve Hart with special guests local legend Max Smidt and Chris Cooke from The Chosen Few! From 11am-8pm. Tickets available now.
Woronora
Get down to Burnum Burnum Sanctuary on Australia Day eve for a celebration of our first people’s earliest traditions. The sunset cultural ceremony begins at 6pm. Aboriginal elders will share their stories and culture, perform traditional dance and music.
There will also be a colourful light display at Burnum Burnum Sanctuary, from 6pm-10pm.
