1. Dianella Street Reserve, Caringbah
Dianella Street Reserve is a natural reserve with an abundance of large native trees providing natural shade on the corner of Cawarra Road and Dianella Street and a grassed open area for free play. The main play structure caters for both pre-school and primary school kids, featuring both a large and small slide, multiple climbing nets, balancing ropes, a rock-climbing wall and a small shop window for play at the bottom.
You’ll find five swings; two supported swings for babies, two unsupported swings for bigger kids and one oversized hammock swing that can fit about three small children at once.
There’s also a few jumping mounds and a spring-based platform for rocking around on. And in good news for those with runners, the whole thing is fenced in.
The playground is fully accessible with an off-street car park, as well as on-street parking right around the park’s perimeter.

2. Biddy Giles Park at South Village
With a host of equipment that is evenly spaced out, Biddy Giles Park at South Village suits a wide range of interests & ages. It offers swings, slides, climbing areas, a basketball court, ping pong table, water fountains, and accessible bins.
The outdoor area comprises a large grass oval with a footpath/bike track circling it and a fully-fenced playground to the side. The playground offers shade, seating and play equipment for infants, tweens and teens. Another plus this playground boasts is the number of swings on offer. With five in total, the wait for your little one’s turn will thankfully be brief.

3. Burnum Burnum Woronora
Named after Burnum Burnum, a significant figure in the history of Aboriginal rights, Burnum Burnum Woronora is a vast and exciting park. Kids can enjoy an abundance of play equipment, spacious surroundings, and opportunities for outdoor exploration. This park offers a wonderful blend of nature, play, and history.
The range of play equipment is among the best we’ve seen at any Sutherland Shire playground.

4. Bonna Point Reserve, Kurnell
Bonna Point Reserve in Kurnell caters to a variety of ages, interests, and skill levels, making them ideal for families with children of different ages. With open grassy areas for running and picnics, colourful playgrounds for imaginative play, and ocean views for exploration, it offers a wide range of exciting activities. There’s a huge climbing structure, a cubby house for the little ones, a range of swings, a flying fox and a small skate park.
The huge range of playground equipment provides a little something for every age group. On the whole, however, bigger kids are the winners at this playground.

5. Old School Park, Gymea
Old School Park in Gymea is a popular choice among families. With its fenced play area, bush track for small bush walks, new equipment, shaded tables, toilets, and convenient parking, it provides a well-rounded experience for visitors. The absence of bark/sand is an added advantage for parents.

7. Canberra Road Reserve, Sylvania
Canberra Road Reserve in Sylvania offers a variety of features for both kids and parents to enjoy. The park boasts bike and scooter tracks, providing a safe and exciting space for children to ride and explore. With its large open spaces, it’s an ideal spot for picnics, allowing families to spread out and relax. One of the standout attractions is the huge slide, guaranteeing hours of thrilling fun for kids.
The park has a fresh and modern look, with a bridge and stepping stones that add an element of adventure and connection to nature. Additionally, the forklift equipment is a particular favourite for kids, igniting their imagination and playfulness. It’s important to note that the park is only partly fenced and lacks toilet facilities.

8. Corea Street Oval Playground, Sylvania
Offering a different but equally enjoyable experience for families, this park is new and well-maintained, creating a clean and inviting atmosphere. The entire area is fenced, ensuring the safety of children while they explore the various climbing equipment available. A small track surrounds the park, providing a convenient path for walking or cycling. Parents can easily keep an eye on their little ones from any vantage point within the fenced area. However, there is a limited grassy area in this park. Unfortunately, there are no toilet facilities available on-site.
9. Tea Tree Place Reserve, Kirrawee
Tea Tree Place Reserve in Kirrawee is a charming park that offers a range of attractions for families. Kids will delight in the three slides available, including two smaller ones and a larger slide that promises excitement. Swings provide additional fun for children of all ages. One notable feature of the park is its ample shade, making it a suitable choice for hot and sunny days. Families can enjoy a picnic at the designated seating area, and a water fountain is available to keep everyone refreshed. However, it’s important to note that the park lacks toilet facilities, fencing, and bins, which may be considered drawbacks.

10. Billa Road Oval, Bangor
Billa Road Oval playground in Bangor is a newly developed park that has quickly gained recognition. With its synthetic softfall surface and various play areas catering to different age groups, this park ensures a memorable experience for all.
The recent upgrade was complete with new boundary fencing and drinking fountain, small scooter and bike track, double slide and double swing with basket swing.
There’s ample parking available, and toilets can be found nearby at the soccer field.
