The Sutherland Shire is aflush with playgrounds. In fact, there are 150 parks in the Sutherland Shire.

So while we don’t claim to have visited every single one, we have made every effort to visit many more playgrounds than the average mum might make it to, and we’re here to help you out by offering a well-researched opinion on the best playgrounds we’ve discovered.

Whether you have a little one who’s a runner, older kids looking for somewhere to skate, or are trying to find somewhere to host an outdoor party, there’s a playground in the Shire that will meet your needs.

Can’t Go to a Playground? Create a Playground in Your Backyard Instead!

If a trip to one of Sutherland Shire’s top playgrounds isn’t on the cards, why not bring the fun home by creating a playground in your own backyard? Transform your outdoor space into a place of adventure and creativity with just a few simple additions. Install outdoor play equipment, a swing set or a slide for endless hours of fun, or create a sandpit where kids can dig and build to their hearts’ content. Add a splash of color with a hopscotch grid painted on the pavement, or hang a climbing rope from a sturdy tree for some active play. With a little creativity and some basic materials, your backyard can become the a fun play area to rivals any local playground.
