Dr Roy Hopkins – Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon
Dr Roy Hopkins is a highly trained Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon practicing at St George Private Hospital. He grew up in New Zealand and completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and a Master of Science by Thesis before moving to Sydney to study medicine.
Dr Hopkins obtained his Fellowship in General Surgery in 2016 and was subsequently accepted onto the highly competitive Australian and New Zealand Gastro-Oesophageal Surgery Association (AANZGOSA) post Fellowship program, which he completed in 2018. He then relocated to the UK and worked at the highest-volume oesophago-gastric cancer service in the region, whilst also undertaking high volume bariatric and complex benign cases.
