Jannali Healthcare Centre | Maternal and Paediatric Chiropractors
At Jannali Healthcare Centre, we understand the unique physical challenges that pregnancy and childbirth bring. Labour and intrauterine positioning can also result in physical strain for some infants, affecting their neck movement, head shape, breastfeeding ability, and developmental milestones. Our team of dedicated chiropractors, with a special interest in maternal and paediatric health, is committed to supporting both mums and their little ones. We aim to offer quality care from highly experienced practitioners.
Cathrine Myrland brings over 10 years of experience to our team and joined us in 2023. She is passionate about providing quality chiropractic care for mums, bubs, and families, utilising a range of chiropractic, muscular, and rehabilitation techniques to support individuals from pregnancy and infancy through childhood and adulthood. Cathrine has a special interest in paediatric chiropractic care, particularly during the critical first year of life when the brain and musculoskeletal system develop rapidly. As one of the few practitioners in Australia trained in paediatric dynamic neuromuscular stabilisation (DNS) rehabilitation, a technique based on developmental kinesiology, she focuses on optimising muscle function and movement patterns. Cathrine has also completed additional studies in functional neurology, including the integration of retained primitive reflexes in older children. She is currently advancing her expertise through a master’s degree in Paediatric Musculoskeletal Development. Her evidence-informed approach to assessment and treatment supports optimal brain, spine, and body development.
Alison Wafer, has contributed over 15 years of experience to Jannali Healthcare Centre, with a special interest in Family Wellness, Pregnancy, and Paediatrics Care. She uses a range of low-force techniques including Sacro-Occipital Technique, Thompson Technique, Webster Technique, and Activator Technique, alongside manual chiropractic adjustments, to provide gentle and effective care. Alison integrates muscular release techniques and dry needling into her treatment plans when appropriate, ensuring comprehensive care for all family members.
