With 1 in 5 mothers and 1 in 10 fathers suffering from perinatal depression and anxiety in Australia each year, we must ensure potential, expectant, and new parents can access support when needed.
Gidget Foundation Australia (GFA) is the leading and largest national provider of perinatal mental health services and exists to support the emotional wellbeing of expectant and new parents to ensure they receive timely, appropriate and specialist care.
GFA provides a range of free specialist treatment programs for families including individual psychological counselling services delivered face-to-face or via telehealth.
Payment for services provided by Gidget House is covered by Medicare bulk billing. A referral and a mental health care plan from a GP are required to access this funding.
